Answers

What is the difference between proofreading and copy editing?

The difference between proofreading and copy editing is that we focus on typographical and mechanical errors rather than on the broader issue of style.

What is the difference between translation and advertising adaptation?

Our translators and copywriters are highly experienced in adapting advertising campaigns for their native countries. They are provided with the original concept and copy, as well as a written and verbal brief that describes the target audience and objectives.

When adapting campaigns for several markets, we maintain a close working dialogue with all writers, comparing progress and looking for concepts that may be appropriate for other markets.

What is copy editing?

The spellchecker in your word processing program is not enough to ensure clean copy. For example, it can't tell the difference between “they’re”, “there” and “their”. That’s where our copy editors come in.

Besides checking grammar and spelling, tightening up wordy prose and smoothing awkward transitions are also generally part of our copy editing service.

We also help maintain stylistic consistency (for instance, checking to see the same terminology is used throughout the entire text). If specified, our copy editing service may include fact checking, referencing and doing conversions, such as distances and currencies. We can also write headlines and captions.

What is content editing?

Content editing looks at the bigger picture – questions of style, logic and structure.

Our international network allows us to provide services in most major European, Asian and Middle Eastern languages. The source language is most often Swedish or English. While our translators may work with several language pairs, they always translate into their native languages.
